Donahhhue & Connelly
[Jack] ran his hands through his hair and gazed around his office, looking vainly for something with which to distract his thoughts and ease the near-painful racing of his heart.
His office was richly appointed, as befitted his position. It was sumptuous and expensive, if somewhat bland; reflecting the creative vision, or lack thereof, of his ex-wife. A flawless representation of the life he had spent years building, it was also, at the moment, a stark reminder of how terrifyingly fragile that life might turn out to be.
